Introduction and Application of Tempered Glass Film

Introduction and Application of Tempered Glass Film

1、 The essence of tempered glass film: beyond "transparent protection"

Tempered glass film is a composite screen protection material formed by physical tempering and chemical coating, with a core structure consisting of "tempered glass substrate+AB double-sided adhesive". Its essence is the "second external screen" of mobile phone screens, which achieves a balance between protection and user experience through the synergy of materials and craftsmanship:

Substrate characteristics:

The specially made glass raw sheet is subjected to high-temperature tempering treatment (heating at around 700 ℃ and rapid cooling), forming a stress layer on the surface. The strength can reach 3-5 times that of ordinary glass, and the compressive strength exceeds 125MPa. It can withstand the impact of 0.8kg steel balls falling from a height of 1.2m.

Core materials:

AB adhesive is made of high transparency PET as the substrate, with one side coated with silicone (for screen bonding) and the other side coated with OCA acrylic adhesive (for glass bonding). The overall light transmittance exceeds 92%, ensuring no bubbles or detachment during bonding.

Category extension:

In addition to the basic high transparency models, sub categories such as anti peeping film (limited by 30 ° -45 ° viewing angle), AR anti reflective film (multi-layer optical coating), and anti drop film (double-layer glass+buffer adhesive layer) have been derived to meet the needs of different scenarios.

2、 Core craftsmanship: the 'invisible threshold' that determines quality

We are well aware of the impact of process details on product experience, and high-quality tempered film requires multiple precision processes:

Substrate selection

High end products often use imported raw materials such as Corning from the United States and Schott from Germany, with a native thickness of less than 0.2mm and a light transmittance of over 95%; Ordinary products commonly use domestically produced raw glass sheets of Luo Bo and Nan Bo, with a light transmittance of about 92%. Be wary of the industry chaos where unscrupulous merchants counterfeit 0.3mm glass thinning as 0.2mm.

precision machining

By cutting and shaping with a CNC precision carving machine, the hole tolerance is controlled within ± 0.1mm, and combined with the sweeping and flat grinding process, a 2.5D curved edge is created (with a 30% higher scrap rate than straight edges) to avoid edge cutting and burr loss.

Strengthen processing

After 3-6 hours of ion exchange in a 420 ℃ tempering furnace, the surface hardness of the glass reaches 8-9H, which can resist scratches from daily hard objects such as keys and coins; The surface is coated with anti fingerprint oil using vacuum coating technology, reducing oil residue and making it easy to clean.

Cleaner Production

The entire process is carried out in a Class 1000 clean room, with strict control of ambient temperature and humidity at 20-25 ℃, 80% -85%, and the use of static elimination equipment to ensure that the finished product is free of defects such as dust and bubbles.

3、 Core purpose: From basic protection to experience upgrade

Scratch-resistant and wear-resistant

9H hardness can effectively resist daily scratches and avoid screen blurring and aging after long-term use;

Explosion proof buffer

When broken, it forms spider web like small fragments that are adsorbed by AB glue without splashing, while absorbing the impact force of falling, reducing the probability of the main screen breaking by more than 60%;

Routine maintenance

Electroplating oil resistant coating reduces fingerprint residue, reduces cleaning frequency by 50%, and maintains screen transparency.
